When in Rome...

As you all know, when we say “Italy”, we have almost instantly in our mind pizza, pasta and gelato. But Italy is more to that. It’s history, culture and a source to power up your batteries at any time.
Let’s start the journey to Italy with (of course) the capital city of Rome. Rome is one of the oldest city in the world, connected to papal state of Vatican. It was founded around 753 B.C. and since then it developed to this marvelous city that we all know today.
If you plan to visit Rome, keep in mind that it’s a city for any budget, depending on the activities that you want to take there.

Yes, we all know this famous attraction of Rome. It’s one of the most beautiful fountains in the world, designed by the great Nicola Salvi, around 260 years ago. It is called “Fontana di Trevi” – Fountain of the Three Roads because it’s situated at the intersection of 3 roads, Via della Stamperia, Via Poli and Via del Lavatore. If you are going to see it, don’t forget to throw a coin and make a wish, dreams do come true in Rome!

2. MUSEO NAZIONALE ROMANO, TERME DI DIOCLEZIANO:

Museo Nazionale Romano, Terme di Diocleziano, has been established in 1889 and hosts the most important collections of arheology of Italy. It has been commissioned by the Emperor Maximian and it’s extended over 13 hectares. The Baths could hold up to 3000 people at time.

3. THE COLOSSEUM

The colosseum of Rome (gr. Kolossos-giant) it’s the largest colosseum ever built and the largest that it’s still stands today. The construction of the roman Colosseum began under Emperor Vespasian around 70 A.D. and was completed by Titus around 80 A.D. During that period, it could hold up a maximum of 80 000 spectators. Colosseum is an entirely free-standing structure. The Colosseum of Rome can be found at Piazza del Colosseo, 1.

4. VATICAN CITY

With a surface of 49 hectares, Vatican City is the smallest state in world when it comes to area and population. The most famous fact that Vatican is renowned for is the fact that Vatican is the home of Pope and Conclaves.
